I want to know where you go these stats from… was the ’study’ conducted in state, or what?
I have no doubts about UI being one of the top 5… but nation wide… I just don’t see how Iowa City could compete with Ann Arbor (UMich) and the $10 weed fee…
Sure, IC is close to Waterloo (aka meth capital of Iowa; Iowa is the meth capital of the world… you trace it back) but that’s all Loo has going for it.
But in reality… if the votes were to be based strictly on party quality, or nightly entertainment… I’d have to say UI is where it’s at.
Here’s a stat for you: Iowa City has ~40 bars within walking distance of campus. That might have something do do with it… that, and we kick ass.
But still… I want to know where he got this info. I read in the paper that iowa was ranked 8th, Wisconsin was 1st, and Ohio a close second.
Ed I got my Info from Star 102.5 as I was tanning at Janco Tanning a few days ago, the DJ comes on and says something to this effect, “The University of Iowa was once again voted to one of the Top 10 Party Schools in the nation and although Iowa State was left off the list again they do graduate the second highest debt total in the nation.” That Ed, is where I got my information.
Okay… well, I don’t like the conflicting ’study’ results… Really, there isn’t anyway to determine a #1 party school. The polls are never going to be right….
But for the sake of arguement, I’ll agree, UI is #1.

that poll comes from a survey of students about drug use, hours spent in class, and bars to student ratio…ISU students aren’t cokeheads, actually go to class (even if we are severely hungover and/or still drunk) and we go to house parties, rather than bars (not flaming here just a difference between schools on the HP’s vs bars). If you look at the combo of drugs, bars, and not going to school, then yes, Iowa should be ahead of ISU
the last time playboy (ie NOT princeton review) did their party rankings, ISU was #13, and Iowa wasn’t honorable mention. Who you gonna listen to, Hef or some nerds from the east coast?

Are you joking? ISU/Ames will NEVER hang with Iowa/Iowa City as a party school. I’ve never heard anyone from ISU say that Ames is better to party in than Iowa City until you fucks came around. They call it Lames for a reason.
