But for some reason, it’s a recurring theme at Iowa State. Add Saturday, November 26th to the likes of the Humanitarian Bowl, Hampton, Eustachy, last year’s Colorado game, and many more. Then sit back, laugh at Iowa State’s misfortune, and thank God you’re a Hawkeye.

Not attending or graduating from the university is a very, very poor case against supporting the athletic teams. Public, state funded universities are (literally) owned by the taxpayers. I would even argue that schools like Iowa and Iowa State are more tied to the fans than pro teams who are privately held. Plus, in a state like Iowa where there are no major professional teams, people tend to support the college teams like they would a pro team.
