MacTaggart is All American

Sorry, I had to throw this in here because the little guys like the track and field team get no mentoin whatsoever in the media.

Iowa sophomore Eric MacTaggart placed 11th at the NCAA Championships about an hour ago in the 10,000 meters. He was the 7th American-born finisher, earning him All-American honors. He was one of only two sophomores in the nation to earn the distinction.

Also, Shane Maier, a native of Storm Lake Iowa and junior for the Hawks, has advanced to the finals in the shot put competition. He sits in 11th place entering the finals.

    Congrats to both these guys, but what about the guy in the hammer throw. I know there were high hopes for him. Has he competed yet, or did he just throw the damn thing so far that we are still waiting for it to come down?

    sorry to talk about football mike, but is anyone else pissed off that the iowa montana game is on espnu. that means even in the cities the colleges are in the fans can’t watch it unless they have an extended cable package. the funny thing is, the bars here in missoula are the only people that can get the game. i live in missoula and the cable companies out here don’t even offer espnu. i thought this would be one game that i actually got to see the hawks play cuz they always show ohio state and pac 10 games out here.
