Worst 10-1 Team Ever
I have conceded the fact that this isn’t the Hawkeye’s year. In a number of positions, most notably wide receiver, we just are not clicking this year. But hey, you never really graduate and there is always next year with no OSU and Michigan on the schedule (I say you never graduate because this is senior year for Colestal and I and we were thinking National Championship this year to go out in style). I can hold my head up high as a Hawk fan and know that we are a good program and that making it to a January bowl five years in a row is more a credit to your weak ass schedule/conference than your program – FSU, Georgia, and the Hawks did make it 4 Jan. bowl games and won’t do it this year, USC is the only remaining that probably will but, in all likelyhood, they would be .500 if they were in the SEC.
I just sat through a game at Kinnick today with about 10 Wisconsin twats sitting in my immediate vicinity and I am pissed. Now I know I might sound like a sore loser to some and that I am griping – believe me, I’m not – but is Wisconsin not one of the most overrated programs in the country!?!? They have not beaten anyone that they weren’t supposed to this year and their one loss came to the Wolverines and they were totally outmatched in that game. For the life of me, I don’t know how the hell they beat Auburn in the Capital One Bowl last year. They can’t send Barry out of Madison with a win but they pull one out of their ass against Auburn? Actually, the game ball in that one should have gone to Auburn’s D for allowing 500 some odd yards of offense. And I like how they threw in the trip to Hawaii at the end that last year to pad the record. Nice to know that the Wisconsin athletic department was shelling out big money to send Barry’s fat ass to Hawaii to get sun burn while they can’t get good enough crowd control at their home games to prevent their own students from almost trampling each other to death. Screw Big 10 pride, I’ll save that for the programs that deserve it.

Unlike last year’s triumphant exit of Greenway and Hodge the Hawkeyes again leave the field with their heads down in defeat. I’m sorry i dont mean to out the Hawkeyes nor am I jumping ship by any means but this graduating class is probably the worst in recent history. The only guy in the graduating class that went above…or even meet expectations this year was Devon Moylan who I am praying gets that injury red shirt from the NCAA and can stay another year. While yes I will forever be proud to be a Hawkeye I am definitely not proud of some of our player’s careers here at Iowa. Tate for example never *lead* us to a win since LSU and hadn’t *lead* us to beat any legitimate teams since either. Chandler was touted as better than Dallas Clark…would Dallas have dropped passes that hit the f*cking numbers? You can’t expect to have your best receivers (Dominique and Stross) who have minimal PT carry the team especially when you have an under performing QB. Like I said I’m not trying to out the Hawkeyes! I believe that there is a lot to look forward to next year and as long as we’ve got Ferentz our future is always bright. In 01′ we went 6-5 (our current record) and then next year we were in the Orange Bowl…it can happen again!
Im not gonna lie here. I really can NOT stand ZoundBrigades posts, they are stupid, idiotic, not funny, and suck at portraying the hawkeye way. He should be ousted from puttin posts on this site. My friends and I have talked about how this site has gone down in quality of material. That is the reason we dont come here often is because of this idiot.
Why bash a Big Ten team that is doing what it is supposed to against lesser oponents? If they are so bad..how the fuck did they beat us? Their lone loss is to Michigan. Maybe Zound should get his shit straight before becomin a shitty hawkeye fan and downing everything. Im still fuckin happy the big ten kicks ass this year! The hawks will be fine next year and the year after..this group just didnt have the great chemistry of years pasts..that WILL come back.

The Hawkeye way? Kiss my ass BigHawk. So your thinking is if someone doesn’t agree with what you think they arn’t Hawkeyes? Nice logic cumstain. The reason I take a more realistic and critical look at what happens is to help encourage debate and replies. I’ve said a thousand times I’m not hating on the Hawkeyes, I just take a different perspective on things so the site isn’t so monotonous. If you don’t like what I say then great, reply and we’ll argue it over. But don’t say I’m not a Hawkeye fan when I am a season ticket holder and watch the Hawks every week.
I’ll admit I wrote the post while I was still hot from the loss, but i stand by my hatred for Wisconsin and that they are not nearly as good as their record indicates. Sit next to a bunch of Wisconsin fans and then talk to me about not bashing a big ten team. I don’t care if they go undefeated, win by 50 in the title game, and make the Big 10 look outstanding I will always hate Wisconsin. OSU and Michigan made the Big 10 look good this year. Wisconsin can eat shit and die. Think of me saying I told you so when the SEC throttles them in the Cap One Bowl. Now I’ll wait for you to post back saying that because I want Wisconsin to lose I hate the Big 10 and Iowa and I’m not a true Hawk fan.

You are the most clique Hawkeye fan who thinks that the Hawks are invisible and can’t lose. How about you stop being ignorant for a second and realize that ZoundBrigade has a very valid point. They haven’t played Ohio State, they squeaked one out against Illinois, beat SDSU by only 14, and if you have WATCHED the game on Saturday would have realized that they weren’t a strong looking team considering how much we sucked that they only beat us by 3 (look at the game stats Wisconsin had 3 fumbles, 2 of which were for turnovers for example). Look at our stats to see how shitty they were for the Wisconsin game and NOT Wisconsin’s stats and you will see why they beat us. Pull your head out of your ass and realize that we are a bad team this year and our record reflects that…Wisconsin is NOT an 10-1 team but their record does not reflect that. Look beyond the win-loss column for a second and fucking critique…Mikehawk, Andyram, and Colestal don’t let BigHawk post ever he is a fucking moron…
In other news, the basketball team is undefeated, and wrestling season starts this weekend. Let’s go to the dome, bring home the pig, and look with hope on the upcoming winter sports seasons.
The Hawkeye Cross Country Team qualified for their third straight NCAA Championships.

….and boiler, the basketball team ha sonly played a couple of games… and no one most people have even heard of. I’m foreseeing a bad season for the hawkeye basketball team, mostly because alford isn’t a true hawkeye, it’s rough for hawkeyes to be led by a hoosier. I am excited for Wrestling though.
For the record the basketball team is a sparkling 1-0 after a win over the perennial powerhouse The Citadel. Haluska dropped 29 pts so thats good to see but the Hawks didn’t look spectacular all night. We do have the third longest home winning streak in the country at 19 games though. I think this could be quite the season for Hawks wrestling. They open up this Saturday so we’ll get our first taste of the Brands led Hawkeyes.
You guys are right, I should listen to you. I think the hawkeyes are INVISIBLE….actually I don’t think they are invisible, nor do I think they are invincible. Honestly, I went into this year telling my friends I expected 8..maybe 9 wins total. The hawks underperformed that greatly. They are lost, no chemistry, i guess we get beat by a really bad wisconsin team. Never once, did I say that we are the greatest team in college sports. It doesn’t matter if you win by one point or 30 points. Michigan had its hands full with ball state the other weekend. Wait, Oh My God, they are BAD 11-0 team now. They didn’t even beat ball state by 10. If that’s how you want to start interpreting records fine. If a team can win, they can win. Wisconsin didnt get destroyed by Michigan either. I am disapointed in the hawkeyes this year and am really looking forward to gettin the fresh blood in the system. 2007 and 2008 epecially 08 is looking really promising. The Other Drew Tate, might as well change that to The Other Jake Christensen. Tate just does not have it this year.

I hate defending Wisconsin in anyway but I think the point needs to be made. Zound says “They have not beaten anyone that they weren’t supposed to this year”. Isn’t this a characteristic of a good team? Isn’t that the difference between Iowa having a successful season this year and us being where we are at today? Isn’t that the one downfall Iowa has had that has kept it from getting respect the last 4-5 years. We always have lost to someone we shouldn’t have, usually in September. Wisconsin has beaten everyone they should have this season so that makes them a decent team. We have not beaten everyone we should have therefore we are not a great team. Simple as that.
