IOWA CITY, IA (HAWKIZE) - The Iowa Hawkeyes took a third straight game from the Michigan State Spartans and Coach Tom “Too Short” Izzo, etching a 62-60 win at Carver Hawkeye Arena on Thursday evening.

“They’re always after me lucky charms!” Izzo said of the Hawkeyes tenacious defense. ” I put a curse on them before the game, but alas, those boogers beat us again! Drat!”

Cyrus Tate dropped in 14 points for the Hawks, a breakout game for the sophomore big man.

Despite a spirited charge by Drew WeinerschNeitzel and the rest of the Lollipop guild, the Hawks were able to hang on for the win.
