IOWA CITY, IA — Hot on the heels of recent criticism about the University of Iowa’s association with an Iowa Lottery sponsored drawing, the UI Athletic Department and the Hawkize.com Architecture Division unveiled a computer-generated model of the expansion that includes a Vegas-style casino.

The casino, which is aptly named ‘Carver-Hawkeye Casino’, features blackjack, craps, roulette, slots, poker, and bingo, among other popular casino games. It is the second casino built in eastern Iowa in the past two years. Hawkize.com was selected as the chief architects for the expansion after their popular ‘Kinnick Kum & Go’ concept drew high praise two years ago.

“Overall, we just felt like Hawkize had the best vision and leadership to make this project a success,” said UI Athletic Director Gary Barta.

“We’re fortunate to have Andyram, a casino connoisseur of sorts, on our design team. Andyram visited more casinos before age 21 than most people will visit their entire life. He is truly an expert in the field,” said Colestal.

The casino is in a position to be a big draw for Hawk fans. Located on the southeast side of Carver-Hawkeye Arena by the Dental Science Building, the casino is a logical choice for fans looking for entertainment following events at the arena. It is also within walking distance from Kinnick Stadium, which will surely attract tens of thousands of visitors during football home games.

“My wildest dreams just came true,” said Hawk fan ZoundBrigade. “A casino on campus is exactly what we needed.”

Proceeds from the casino will be funneled directly in to the UI Athletic Department’s budget. Gary Barta is highly optimistic about the impact the new casino will make.

“To my knowledge, this is the first university-owned casino in the world. With the money we raise from this casino, our budget will make Texas and Ohio State look like homeless folks begging for nickels.”

The architects are equally optimistic.

“It’s going to be awesome!” exclaimed Mikehawk.
