Pancheros Out Sells Iowa State Athletic Department in 2006
IOWA CITY, IA(Hawkize)- With a fist pump, Panchero’s owner and founder Rodney Anderson announced today that Panchero’s has officially out-grossed the entire Iowa State Athletic Deprartment for the 2006 fiscal year.
“We’re really excited,” he told Hawkize in a special, made-up interview. “I mean, I know it’s not a big deal to out-do ISU, but every little bit counts, right?”
Panchero’s has become a fixture in Iowa City nightlife since its founding in 1992- a staple food for drunk University of Iowa students as they stagger home from bars such as The Airliner and One-Eyed Jake’s on Clinton Street.
“I’m thinking about getting a billboard right outside of Ames,” Anderson continued. “I want it to say “This is a steak burrito and chips and queso state” with a picture of that funny mexican guy who works at the Clinton Street location holding a big vat of salsa.”
Plans for the billboard are still in the works.
“I think it’s atrocious,” ISU’s Athletic Director Jamie Pollard said in response. “I’ll have to fire at least four coaches over this. We cannot stand for this.”
In a related move, Iowa State’s new football slogan (as voted on by the fans, just like the new gold uniform pants for this fall) for 2007 will be “It’s all about the tortilla.”
Head ISU football coach Gene Chizdik could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
Also out-selling Iowa State’s Athletic Dept. in 2007 were businesses such as The Gyro Cart guy and the guy who sells hemp necklaces and talks to himself downtown about the aliens coming.

Ummm…I believe I saw you outside of this establishment on evening….
Adam Haluska just got drafted in the 2nd Round by New Orleans. He was the 43rd overall pick, 13th or the round. I think it deserves a post.
You know why it took so long for him to get a pick? ISU tainted his record…
PS: Yes, I’m still alive…
